CHIROPRACTIC ORTHOPEDICS

What is a Chiropractic Orthopedic Specialist?

A chiropractic orthopedist is a chiropractic physician who has completed post graduate training leading towards board certification as a chiropractic orthopedic specialist. Upon completion of the 3-4 year postgraduate program the board eligible chiropractic orthopedist must pass both written and clinical examinations demonstrating expertise consistent with an orthopedic specialist. The chiropractic orthopedist treats musculoskeletal injuries in a non-surgical manner and provides non-surgical treatment options; such as manual medicine, massage, ultrasound, electrical muscle therapy, diathermy, exercise programs and more, for relief of joint, nerve and muscle pain in necks, backs, knees, elbows, wrists and other joints. Referral for medical or surgical procedures are made when indicated. Dr. Shaw and his associates offer a unique blend of education and caring which have provided relief of pain and suffering for thousands.

“Chiropractic orthopedics shall be considered a branch of orthopedics, the purposes of which are: by non-surgical techniques, to prevent and correct deformities and to preserve and to improve the functions of bones, muscles, joints and their nerve supply, when such functions are threatened or impaired by defects, lesions or disease”
